Funshine Early Learning Center Teacher

About the role

The Funshine Early Learning Teacher works under the general supervision of the Funshine Early Learning Center Coordinator and alongside classroom aides to provide a safe, positive, and engaging learning environment for preschool-aged children. The teacher leads classroom activities, supervision, preparation, and the day-to-day needs of the Early Learning Center Program.

We are currently hiring for our morning classes, Tuesdays/Thursdays from 9:00 AM–12:30 PM.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, and conduct daily classroom activities.
• Supervise and interact with children in a positive and supportive manner.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom.
• Support children's social, emotional, and educational development.
• Follow all safety and center policies.
• Attend special events, activities, and all staff meetings.

Requirements

• Graduation from high school or equivalent required.
• Early Childhood Education coursework or related experience preferred.
• Experience working with preschool-aged children is preferred.
• Skill in communicating effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds when required.
• Good public relations and customer service skills.
• Ability to work with children and their families, as well as all ages.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and the public.
• This position may require use of personal or City vehicles on City business. Individuals must be physically capable of operating vehicles safely, possess a valid driver's license, and have a good driving record.
