Funeral Director
About the role
The Funeral Director serves families by guiding them through the process of making informed decisions when arranging a loved one’s funeral with care and compassion. You will be the primary point of contact for families, parish staff, vendors, and CFCS staff for funeral services. The role involves communicating, coordinating, and following through on all aspects of the funeral service case.
Responsibilities
- Guide families through funeral arrangements with compassion and professionalism.
- Coordinate with internal departments, external stakeholders, and vendors.
- Manage all aspects of funeral service cases from initial contact to completion.
Requirements
- Must have Event Planning experience or a Funeral Director license.
- Associate's Degree or 60 hours toward an Associate’s Degree.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Funeral Director license is a plus.
- Interest in obtaining a funeral license is a plus.
- Interest in working in a Catholic environment; all backgrounds welcome.
- Passion for people and strong interpersonal skills.
- Great organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift or move objects weighing between 75-100 lbs.
- Ability to push and pull up to 300 lbs. with a wheeled cart.
- Ability to stand for long periods on a hard surface.
Pay
- Funeral Director: $28 - $33/hour (DOE).
- Event Planner: $28 - $30/hour (DOE).
Structured increase schedule based on years of service and education.
