Fundraising Vice President, Development
As Vice President of Development, you will leverage your proven sales and relationship management skills to drive success and achieve revenue goals through positive engagement with staff and community volunteer leaders. Utilizing your networking skills, you will identify and cultivate relationships with key community leaders and C-Suite corporate partners. In this leadership role, you will coach and inspire your team to build successful event growth strategies through community and volunteer engagement.
This key chapter leadership position involves working closely with Chapter and cross-functional leadership to develop ambitious, comprehensive development strategies and goals aligned with the Association’s strategic plan, delivering measurable results. You will contribute your professional fundraising leadership experience in leading, coaching, and mentoring a team of professional development staff. This role is based in the Nashville office and oversees the entire state of Tennessee. A sign-on bonus may be available for this position.
Responsibilities
- Drive revenue growth through sustainable corporate and community partnerships.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive development strategy to achieve aggressive revenue goals.
- Provide positive engagement with staff and volunteers through coaching, recognition, and mutual accountability.
- Recruit, manage, and coach fundraising staff and volunteers to implement best practices, with a focus on the Walk to End Alzheimer’s.
- Build and maintain a positive, healthy, and inclusive team environment.
- Provide inspirational leadership and oversight for fundraising programs, including mass market events, corporate sponsorships, major and planned gifts, and pipeline development.
- Analyze and utilize data to enhance productivity and results.
- Network and cultivate relationships with C-Suite community and corporate leaders to fulfill volunteer leadership roles.
- Develop and manage strategic implementation plans and budgets.
- Work cross-functionally to build organizational capacity.
- Represent the Chapter at meetings and special events.
- Travel extensively within the chapter territory, including occasional overnight travel.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in sales, business, or a related field; CFRE certification is a plus but not required.
- 7+ years of proven leadership experience in peer-to-peer fundraising and diversified fundraising programs.
- Experience with mass market events like Walk is required.
- Strong track record in networking and cultivating key C-Suite community and corporate leaders.
- Proven success in engaging community and corporate leaders for volunteer roles.
- Experience in strategic planning, budget development, and management.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise, coach, and motivate fundraising staff and volunteers.
Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and project management skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides), and teleconferencing software (e.g., Zoom).
- Experience with Internet and database/fundraising applications, preferably Luminate.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, early mornings, and occasional weekends.
- Valid driver’s license, proof of vehicle insurance, and access to a reliable personal vehicle for travel.
Pay
The Alzheimer’s Association’s good faith expectation for the salary range for this role is between $120,000 and $135,000. There is a performance-based incentive opportunity of up to $13,000, depending on portfolio size and achievement of quarterly goals.
