Fundraising Manager, Walk to End Alzheimer's

You join an exclusive team of leaders responsible for the implementation of Walk to End Alzheimer’s®, the world’s largest fundraiser for Alzheimer’s care, support, and research. Walk to End Alzheimer’s® ranks as the second-largest peer-to-peer fundraising event in the United States and continues to set the pace as one of the fastest-growing walk events in the country. In 2025, it was again recognized as the #2 peer-to-peer fundraising event in the country and acknowledged for achieving the largest dollar growth of any program in the top 30.

Utilizing your proven networking and relationship-building skills, you will drive success and achieve revenue goals by strategically identifying and engaging community and corporate leaders, and building and empowering sustainable volunteer committees. As a successful fundraising leader managing multiple peer-to-peer fundraising events annually, you will generate excitement and enthusiasm in the community for Walk to End Alzheimer’s, coach and inspire volunteers to implement and build on proven strategies and best practices, resulting in event growth year over year.

Responsibilities

  • Build sustainable corporate and community relationships to achieve event revenue goals, greater community participation, and heightened brand awareness.
  • Recruit, manage, and coach volunteers to effectively implement best and proven practices to achieve fundraising goals, either through prior experience or by leveraging custom training on peer-to-peer fundraising.
  • Manage multiple volunteer-led mass-market events simultaneously to drive revenue growth year over year.
  • Convene and build a positive, healthy, and inclusive team environment to foster long-term community relationships.
  • Achieve or surpass designated revenue and participant goals through team and individual fundraising, corporate solicitation, and community partnerships.
  • Prospect, cultivate, and steward event teams, sponsors, and participants.
  • Manage event budgets, train volunteers, work to set timelines and milestones, and use data to affect positive outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years of proven experience in recruiting and mobilizing volunteers to achieve goals or 3-5 years of successful experience meeting sales targets.
  • Valid driver’s license, access to a reliable vehicle, good driving record, and proof of automobile insurance.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 60% within the assigned territory by car (occasional overnight or air travel may be required).
  • Ability and willingness to work some evenings and weekends as required for committee meetings, Walk events, and related activities.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, lift, and transport up to 25 lbs. of materials.

Skills

  • Confident, goal-oriented, positive self-starter able to work independently with limited supervision and collaboratively with internal and external partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and nurture corporate relationships and partnerships.
  • Ability to manage large numbers of volunteers at different levels of expertise with diplomacy.
  • Ability to work with diverse communities and demonstrate inclusion, coupled with the ability to work in a highly matrixed organization.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including verbal and written communication and follow-through.
  • Strong computer skills, proficient with Microsoft Office products and social media; experience with, or ability to rapidly learn, Luminate/Convio software.

Pay

The Alzheimer’s Association’s good faith expectation for the salary range for this role is between $51,000–$56,000. There is a performance-based incentive opportunity up to $13,000, depending on portfolio size and achievement of quarterly goals.

Schedule

This is a full-time position. Travel up to 60% within the assigned territory is required, including occasional overnight or air travel. Some evenings and weekends may be required for committee meetings, Walk events, and related activities.
