Fundraising Manager, Walk to End Alzheimer's
About the role
The Manager of Walk to End Alzheimer’s leads a team responsible for the implementation of Walk to End Alzheimer’s®, a major fundraising event for Alzheimer’s care, support, and research. Key responsibilities include generating excitement, coaching volunteers, and building sustainable volunteer committees in Bloomington, Columbus, and Terre Haute.
Responsibilities
- Generate excitement and enthusiasm in the community
- Coach and inspire volunteers to implement and build on proven strategies and best practices
- Drive success and achieve revenue goals by strategically identifying and engaging community and corporate leaders
- Build and empower sustainable volunteer committees in Bloomington, Columbus, and Terre Haute
- Work from home office with occasional travel to Indianapolis
Requirements
- Proven success at building sustainable corporate and community relationships
- Successfully recruited, managed, and coached volunteers to achieve fundraising goals
- Managed or capable of managing multiple volunteer-led mass-market events resulting in revenue growth
- Known as a convener and able to build a positive, healthy, and inclusive team environment
- Experience working with diverse communities and demonstrating inclusion
- Excellent communication and organization skills
- Ability to manage event budgets, train volunteers, set timelines, and use data to affect positive outcomes
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 3-5 years of proven experience in recruiting and mobilizing volunteers or 3-5 years of successful experience meeting sales targets
- Knowledgeable in developing and nurturing corporate relationships and partnerships
- Ability to manage large numbers of volunteers at different levels of expertise with diplomacy
- Excellent interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication and follow-through
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 60% within the assigned territory
- Strong computer skills, proficient with Microsoft Office products and social media

- Confident, goal-oriented, positive self-starter, able to work independently with limited supervision and collaborate with internal and external partners
