Funding Officer (Maternity Cover) Part time 28 hours a week

About the role

We need someone with an understanding of social issues and community needs to join our team as a part-time Funding Officer. At Community Foundation North East, we share a love for North East England and believe in the importance of giving and philanthropy, backing local charities and championing disadvantaged people. Every year, we award grants to hundreds of local charities and community organisations through funds set up by donors and partners.

Responsibilities

• Assess funding requests we receive and make recommendations on those to support
• Carry out grant monitoring and reporting
• Help promote our funding to potential recipients
• Manage some of our smaller lighter-touch funds

Qualifications & experience

• Understanding of the work of local charities and community organisations
• Preference for previous experience in funding roles, but no degree required
• Belief in backing the brilliant work of small charities
• Commitment to embracing equality and diversity

• Salary: £30,900 Pro Rata (Fixed Salary)

• Based: Newcastle, Tyne and Wear
