About the role
Atlantic Group is hiring a Fund Controller in Boston, MA for our client, supporting fund accounting, financial reporting, fund operations, and accounting oversight across a diversified investment management platform. This leadership role will oversee fund finance activities, financial reporting, operational processes, and third-party service providers while partnering closely with senior leadership to enhance financial controls, improve operational efficiency, and support strategic business initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Oversee fund accounting and operational activities across multiple alternative investment strategies while ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and strong financial controls.
- Manage relationships with fund administrators, custodians, auditors, and other third-party partners while maintaining high service standards and operational effectiveness.
- Oversee fund accounting, financial reporting, cash management, and accounting processes to support accurate reporting and regulatory compliance.
- Partner with investment and executive leadership on fund launches, operational enhancements, technology implementations, and finance transformation projects.
- Lead initiatives focused on automation, system enhancements, operational controls, and workflow optimization to improve scalability and efficiency.
- Mentor and develop finance professionals while establishing best practices, maintaining technical standards, and supporting cross-functional collaboration.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
- CPA, CFA, CAIA, or a related professional designation is required.
- 7+ years of experience in fund accounting, fund finance, public accounting, fund administration, or alternative investment management is required.
- Experience with private equity, hedge funds, secondaries, registered funds, partnership accounting, and alternative investment structures is required.
- Advanced Excel skills are required; experience with financial systems, automation tools, and business intelligence platforms is preferred.
- Strong leadership, analytical, technical accounting, communication, and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate across cross-functional teams.
Pay
$120,000 – $170,000/year + bonus
