About the role

We have an immediate opening for a Functional Medicine Practitioner. For the right candidate, this is a life-changing career opportunity. Our clinic sees dozens of Functional Medicine new patients each month. These patients present with Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, metabolic syndrome, Crohn’s, blood sugar problems, IBS, inflammation, Lupus (and other auto‑immune issues), endocrine issues, and more. The complexity of these cases ranges from relatively low to highly complex. We are looking for a Functional Medicine professional to assist us in our mission to effectively address these problems at the root cause and achieve real, lasting results for our patients.

Responsibilities

• Order the correct blood test diagnostics
• Understand and interpret those diagnostics for patients
• Apply granular knowledge of blood chemistry and how nutraceuticals, pharmaceuticals, and food impact it
• Explain how gut permeability impacts the immune system and how addressing it can heal or reverse immune, endocrine, and inflammatory issues
• Understand how different body systems interact to create dysfunction in patients
• Identify root causes of heart disease, metabolic conditions, weight‑management problems, autoimmune disease, endocrine and inflammatory issues
• Know the connections and interactions of gut health with the cardiovascular system, brain, reproductive organs, and immune system
• Learn the specifics of our system and how we achieve results for patients
• Take ownership for the patient outcomes you drive
• Report results and troubleshoot issues with patients using high‑level professional communication
• Become familiar with various blood testing portals
• Handle email attachments, PDFs, and navigate our EMR to load and review patient information
• Communicate effectively and professionally (complete sentences, grammatically correct, typing >45 wpm, organizing emails for timely responses)
• Bring real‑world experience in getting Functional Medicine results for patients

Requirements

• Credential flexibility: Naturopath, Nurse NP, RN, Doctor of Chiropractic, Nutritionist, DO, MD, or other provider can fulfill the role
• No strong preference for educational background; we value passion for Functional Medicine, appropriate healthcare philosophy, and a wealth of Functional Medicine knowledge
• Not an entry‑level position – requires real‑world experience with Functional Medicine
• Deep understanding of the Functional Medicine process from start to finish

Skills

• Familiarity with various blood testing portals
• Ability to handle email attachments and PDFs
• Proficiency navigating the EMR to load and review patient information
