Functional Genomics Intern

About the role

Seeking a Functional Genomics Intern to support bioinformatics analyses of next-generation omics datasets and utilize AI prediction tools to address biological challenges in agricultural biotechnology.

Responsibilities

• Assist bioinformatics scientists with high-throughput genomics data analysis.
• Apply advanced AI tools for omics data prediction and interpretation.
• Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to develop innovative solutions.
• Contribute to reports, presentations, and visualizations of analytical results.
• Document workflows, methods, and code to ensure reproducibility.
• Leverage deep learning models to enhance gene expression in crops.
• Communicate findings effectively in team meetings.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing an MS or PhD in Bioinformatics, Molecular Biology, Genetics, Computer Science, or related fields.
• Proficient with Linux/Unix, shell scripting, Python or R, and version control tools like Git.
• Strong understanding of molecular biology and genetics.
• Ability to analyze large datasets and develop reproducible workflows.
• Excellent problem-solving, attention to detail, and communication skills.

Skills

• Experience with Deep Learning, DNA LLM, high-throughput omics, high-performance computing, or cloud platforms.
• Self-motivated, eager to learn new methods, and capable of working independently and collaboratively.
• Experience presenting technical work to diverse audiences.
