Fumigation Specialist

About the role

The role involves providing high quality fumigation services at major seaports and inland locations across the U.S., supporting Ecolab’s mission to protect vital resources.

Responsibilities

• Aid in the complete fumigation process, including sealing, tarping, introducing fumigant, conducting fume readings, and aerating/de-gassing facilities.
• Use handheld computerized equipment to manage service documentation, document structural, sanitation, and pest issues, and monitor gas levels.
• Read, understand, and follow labels and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for hazardous chemicals.
• Communicate effectively with customers as needed.
• Inspect, maintain, and use Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) correctly.
• Follow safety protocols, including OSHA guidelines and customer-specific requirements.
• Operate equipment involved in fumigation management services, including electronic devices for data recording and reporting.
• Assist with obtaining necessary fumigation certifications and licenses.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Two years of work or military experience.
• Ability to obtain required fumigation certifications and licenses.
• Ability to work overnight shifts and be on-call during off work hours and weekends.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Experience with reading product labels, computing and mixing chemicals, and following label requirements.
• Computer skills: database software, company network-based and cloud-based applications, smart phones, Microsoft Office, and electronic devices for accessing and entering data.

Qualifications

• Current and valid Driver's License.
• State fumigation certificate/license.
• TWIC card for secure facility access.
• CDL with Hazmat endorsement.

Pay and Schedule

Annual or hourly compensation range: $37,700-$56,600. Benefits include health insurance, 401k with company match, pension, paid parental leave, discounted childcare resources, education assistance, and more.
