Fully Skilled Millwright
All-Clad, a leader in superior cookware for home cooks and professional chefs, is hiring a full-time Fully-Skilled Millwright/Mechanical Technician at our metal manufacturing plant in Canonsburg, PA. We have been in the same location for over 50 years.
About the role
The Maintenance Technician performs basic mechanical and electrical repairs to plant equipment used in manufacturing high-quality cookware, ensuring efficient and safe operation. This role works with others to maintain robotic and automated production equipment, including pneumatic, mechanical, and electrical systems, while adhering to state/local codes, safety regulations, company policies, and Lock Out/Tag Out procedures.
Responsibilities
- Use all tools and instruments for plant maintenance safely.
- Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, or components using test equipment and hand tools to locate and correct breakdowns.
- Perform mechanical and electrical repairs based on diagnosed deficiencies.
- Read and interpret mechanical prints, including revisions, hydraulics, pneumatics, tool/equipment design, and electrical systems.
- Apply basic fabrication techniques and projects.
- Troubleshoot hydraulic, pneumatic, and other mechanical systems.
- Inspect mechanical systems, equipment, or components to identify hazards, defects, or needed adjustments/repairs, ensuring compliance with state/local codes.
- Construct rigging (chains, straps, chokers, etc.) and move equipment precisely and safely as directed.
Requirements
- High School Diploma and/or GED required.
- Experience in the mechanical field, including:
- Working with hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
- Using testing instrumentation and tools for diagnosing malfunctioning systems.
- Reading mechanical prints/drawings.
- Understanding mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems and processes.
- Must pass an onsite entrance exam (knowledge test) and, if successful, an in-person interview.
- Must pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
- Must complete an educational program as per union contract.
- Visual color discrimination: ability to match or detect differences between colors, including shades and brightness.
Schedule
- Must be able to work swing shift (alternating weeks of days and evenings) and/or steady midnight shift, typically 8–12 hours per day.
- Must be available for extended daily overtime and/or weekends as needed.
Working Environment
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 lbs and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
- Must move freely through the manufacturing facility and between buildings.
- Stand 100% of the shift while performing job functions.
- Wear mandatory PPE and follow documented safety guidelines.
- Exposure to moving mechanical parts, sharp objects, industrial chemicals, high noise, and dusty environments.
Pay
$38.24 – $41.68 per hour (contingent upon proof of certifications or passing grade on the Ramsay test for Millwright/Mechanical Technician).
