Arrow Center for Education Teachers provide services specified in student IEPs and/or PEPs, instruct small groups, and supervise daily educational activities to increase academic achievement and improve social behavior.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe learning environment in accordance with Arrow Center policies and procedures.
- Supervise and manage student behavior in the classroom, school, and school-sponsored functions.
- Provide direct group and individual instruction in English/language arts, math, science, social studies, electives, and other required courses.
- Prepare and implement comprehensive unit plans for groups of approximately nine students.
- Design and implement curriculum, instructional strategies, and materials tailored to each student’s academic performance, learning style, and clinical information.
- Create a stimulating and motivating learning environment for students who have struggled in traditional school settings.
- Complete all necessary paperwork, including daily attendance records, grades, and behavioral logs.
- Prepare periodic and special evaluations through IEPs or PEPs, report significant behavioral changes, and recommend plan adjustments.
- Participate as an active member of the Treatment Team, communicating relevant information within and outside the classroom.
- Assist in developing and maintaining a positive school culture.
- Maintain proper rules, ensure student safety and security, and provide crisis intervention when necessary.
- Inform the Principal of all relevant situations.
- Maintain emergency lesson plans for unforeseen absences.
- Attend required trainings and meetings.
- Share and promote the mission and vision of Arrow Child & Family Ministries with staff, students, and families.
- Perform duties in compliance with contract, state and federal regulations, company policy, and regulatory agency standards.
- May be required to drive vehicles, meet auto insurance provider requirements, and complete company vehicle training.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Valid (or eligible and willing to obtain) State Department of Education Teaching Certificate in the area required by the assignment, within state-mandated timelines.
- At least 1 year of teaching experience in special education preferred.
