Full Time Tenure Track Faculty - Automotive
About the role
Kennedy-King College is seeking a Full-Time Faculty (Tenure Track) to teach Automotive Technology. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated success in the classroom and will inspire, motivate, and empower students to succeed.
Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver quality classroom instruction in lecture and/or laboratory formats, based on the approved curricula.
- Assist in the resolution of student issues, when required.
- Facilitate the learning of students.
- Revise and continually update curriculum and instructional materials which are competency-based, current, consistent with employer expectations, and aligned with the automotive industry and ASE certification.
- Fulfill assigned schedule, maintain accurate student attendance and grade records, maintain instructional environment with emphasis on safety, housekeeping, and equipment security, and ensure opportunities for student/participant evaluation.
- Develop and deliver customized training for various clients as needed and maintain involvement with business/industry/community through advisory committees, marketing and recruitment efforts, and professional associations and organizations.
- Advise and support students as a mentor and role model in the achievement of their learning and career goals.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in automotive technology required.
- Bachelor degree in automotive technology strongly preferred.
- Must have G1, A2, A3, and A6, certification from the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE).
- Three to four years of teaching experience in the field.
- Strong knowledge of intricate automotive systems.
- Demonstrated ability to work skillfully with highly technical diagnostic equipment, including Scan Tools, Lab Scopes, DVOMs, Air Conditioning Recycling Equipment, Vibration Diagnostic Equipment, etc.
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Familiarity with SMART Board Technology and learning management platforms i.e., Brightspace, preferred.
Pay
The salary range for this position is $58,000 - $65,000. Offered salary will be determined by the respective collective bargaining agreement and applicant's education.
