Full-Time Store Associate

About the role

As a store associate, you’ll enhance the customer shopping experience by working collaboratively with the ALDI team and providing exceptional customer service. This is a full-time position averaging 30+ hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Model and fulfill all customer service principles and escalate concerns to store management as necessary.
• Inform store management of loss due to outdated or damaged products.
• Properly utilize the point-of-sale (POS) system to accurately scan and process customer purchases; inform store management of scanning concerns or errors.
• Adhere to cash policies and procedures; follow the line policy and open additional check lanes as required to ensure an efficient checkout.
• Stock shelves and displays neatly while following merchandising planograms to maximize sales.
• Complete curbside pickup orders by accurately retrieving items from the store, verifying order contents, and ensuring timely delivery to customers’ vehicles from the staging area.
• Maintain zone and merchandising standards at all times.
• Assist store management in achieving operational efficiency and total loss goals.
• Comply with all established company policies and processes.
• Support store management in providing a safe working environment by identifying and rectifying hazards, ensuring proper ergonomics, and maintaining equipment in proper working order.
• Adhere to inventory procedures and product handling guidelines.
• Perform general cleaning tasks to company standards.

Physical Demands

• Push, pull, sit, stand, reach, grasp, twist, and move from one area to another.
• Lift, carry, and place product weighing up to 45 pounds on shelves at various heights, including overhead.
• Operate equipment such as cash register, electric and manual hand jacks, floor scrubber, and cardboard baler.
• Stock product in varying temperatures, including freezer and cooler environments.
• Use glass and multipurpose cleaning products.

Qualifications

• Ability to provide prompt and courteous customer service.
• Ability to operate all store equipment such as cash registers, floor scrubber, cardboard baler, pallet jacks, handheld devices, and computers.
• Ability to interpret and apply ALDI operating policies and procedures.
• Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Ability to follow instructions and pay attention to detail.
• Ability to work both independently and with others.
• Ability to organize, prioritize, and complete assigned tasks to maximize productivity within established timeframes.
• Ability to maintain reliable and prompt attendance.
• Ability to meet availability requirements.

Education and Experience

• At least 18 years old required.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Prior work experience in a retail environment preferred.

Pay

Starting wage: $18.00 per hour. Wage increases: Year 2 - $18.50, Year 3 - $19.00, Year 4 - $19.00, Year 5 - $20.00.
