Responsibilities

• Evaluates providers’ medication orders for appropriateness of drug, dosage, frequency, route of administration and potential allergies and clinical interactions.
• Makes recommendations for therapy changes to the provider as appropriate and/or manages therapies in accordance with medical staff approved pharmacy management protocols.
• Checks all medications that are dispensed by the pharmacy and ensures compliance with all federal and state regulations regarding medications.
• Participates as a critical member of the clinical team and practices and promotes safe medication management.

Qualifications

• Required Education: Bachelor of Pharmacy Degree or PharmD
• Preferred Education: Residency Trained
• Required Licensure: Licensed Pharmacist with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy
• Preferred Licensure: Sterile IV Compounding Certification
• Required Experience: One year experience working as a pharmacist, hospital pharmacy experience
• Required Skills: Adept at Microsoft, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

Schedule

Full time, 8-hour shifts, rotating day shifts. Periodic weekends required.
