About the role

As a Customer Service Associate at Lowe’s, you combine top‑notch customer service skills with genuine care for people to help customers feel comfortable while shopping. You will welcome customers, help them find the right products and services for their home‑improvement needs, and occasionally load merchandise. Your duties may vary by department, which can include Appliances, Cabinets, Flooring, Live Nursery, Inside Garden, Hardware, Tools, Millwork, Building Materials, Plumbing, Electrical, Paint, Home Décor, Tool Rental, or Pro Services.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome customers to Lowe’s, answer questions, and deliver friendly and professional service.
• Assist customers with locating and handling merchandise.
• Down‑stock merchandise by identifying empty shelf areas and replenishing supplies.
• Process orders and deliveries accurately so customers receive merchandise as expected and on time.
• Cross‑functionally train in other areas of the store to help deliver the best customer service.
• Prepare merchandise in your department based on customer needs (e.g., tint and mix paint, cut and thread pipe, cut and bundle wood, cut drywall, cut blinds).
• Guide customers through shopping or checkout.
• Complete other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• 6 months experience using a computer (inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information).
• 6 months experience using common retail technology such as smartphones and tablets.
• Reading, writing, and basic arithmetic (addition and subtraction).
• Ability to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary to perform job duties.
• Ability to lift 25 lb unassisted or over 25 lb with or without an accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications

• 6 months of retail and/or customer service experience.
• Bi‑lingual skills.
• Certification in a trade related to the department (e.g., hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, lumber/building materials).

Working Conditions

Environmental factors vary by location; you may work inside and outside, encountering extreme heat or cold, wet or humid conditions, wind, and drafty environments. Noise levels can be constant or intermittent, and you may handle moving or shaking objects and equipment. Lifting guidelines limit single lifts to 75 lb; team lifts are used for heavier items. Powered equipment is used as required, with proper training or assistance.

Travel Requirements

This role does not require regular travel, but occasional travel to meetings, training sessions, or to support neighboring stores may be needed.
