Responsibilities

  • Welcome customers to Lowe's, answer questions, and deliver friendly and professional customer service.
  • Assist customers with locating and handling merchandise.
  • Down stock merchandise by identifying empty areas on shelves and replenishing supplies.
  • Process orders and deliveries accurately to ensure customers receive merchandise as expected and on time.
  • Cross-functionally train in other areas of the store to enhance customer service.
  • Prepare merchandise based on customer needs (e.g., tint and mix paint, cut and thread pipe, cut and bundle wood, cut drywall, cut blinds).
  • Guide customers through shopping or checkout processes.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

Customer Service Associates work in one of the following departments, depending on hiring needs and skillsets: Appliances, Cabinets, Flooring, Live Nursery, Inside Garden, Hardware, Tools, Millwork, Building Materials, Plumbing, Electrical, Paint, Home Décor, Tool Rental, or Pro Services.

Requirements

  • 6 months of experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
  • 6 months of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
  • Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic (addition and subtraction).
  • Able to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other physical activities necessary for the role.
  • Ability to minimally lift 25 lbs unassisted or over 25 lbs with or without accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 6 months of retail and/or customer service experience.
  • Bilingual skills.
  • Certification in a trade related to the department (e.g., hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, lumber/building materials).

Pay

Pay Range: $15.00 - $15.60 per hour. Starting rate of pay may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, position offered, location, education, training, and/or experience.

Working Conditions

  • Environmental factors vary by location, including both inside and outside weather conditions.
  • Exposure to varying climates, such as extreme heat or cold, wet, damp, humid, windy, or drafty conditions.
  • Exposure to constant or intermittent noises and moving or shaking objects and equipment.
  • Lifting methods vary based on role, weight, and volume; associates must follow guidelines limiting single lifts to 75 pounds, with team lifts used minimally starting at 75 pounds or when needed.
  • Use of powered equipment as required, with proper training or assistance from a trained coworker.

Travel Requirements

This role does not require regular travel; however, occasional travel may be needed for meetings, training, or to support neighboring stores.
