About the role
This is an excellent role for those who want to engage with customers and assist them in finding the right products and services for their home improvement needs. Customer Service Associates work in one of the following departments, based on hiring needs and skillsets:

Responsibilities
- Welcome customers to Lowe’s, answer questions, and deliver friendly and professional customer service.
- Assist customers with locating and handling merchandise.
- Down stock merchandise by looking for empty areas on shelves and replenishing supplies.
- Process orders and deliveries accurately so customers receive merchandise as expected and on time.
- Cross-functionally train in other areas of the store to help deliver the best customer service.
- Prepare merchandise in your department based on customer needs (e.g., tint and mix paint, cut and thread pipe, cut and bundle wood, cut drywall, cut blinds).
- Guide customers through shopping or checkout.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 6 months experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
- 6 months experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic (addition and subtraction).
- Able to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary to perform job duties.
- Minimally lift 25 lbs unassisted or over 25 lbs with or without an accommodation.
Preferred Qualifications
- 6 months of retail and/or customer service experience.
- Bilingual skills.
- Certification in a trade related to the department (e.g., hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, and lumber/building materials).

Working Conditions
- Environmental factors vary by location; may include both inside and outside weather conditions.
- Exposure to varying climates, including extreme heat or cold, wet, damp, humid, windy, or drafty conditions.
- Exposure to constant or intermittent noises and moving or shaking objects and equipment.
- Lifting methods vary; single lifts limited to 75 pounds, with team lifts used minimally starting at 75 pounds or when needed.
- Powered equipment may be used with proper training or assistance from a trained coworker.
Travel Requirements
This role does not require regular travel but may occasionally involve travel to meetings, training, or to support neighboring stores.
