About the Role
As a Customer Service Associate you combine top‑notch customer service skills with genuine care for people to help customers feel comfortable while shopping at Lowe’s. This role is ideal for those who want to engage with customers and help them solve their home‑improvement challenges.
You will welcome customers to Lowe’s, help them find the right products and services, interact throughout the day, occasionally load merchandise, and ensure all customer needs are met. Daily responsibilities may vary by department, which can include Appliances, Cabinets, Flooring, Live Nursery, Inside Garden, Hardware, Tools, Millwork, Building Materials, Plumbing, Electrical, Paint, Home Décor, Tool Rental, or Pro Services.
Responsibilities
- Welcome customers to Lowe’s, answer questions, and deliver friendly and professional customer service.
- Assist customers with locating and handling merchandise.
- Down‑stock merchandise by identifying empty shelf areas and replenishing supplies.
- Process orders and deliveries accurately so customers receive merchandise as expected and on time.
- Cross‑functionally train in other areas of the store to help deliver the best customer service.
- Prepare merchandise in your department based on customer needs (e.g., tint and mix paint, cut and thread pipe, cut and bundle wood, cut drywall, cut blinds).
- Guide customers through shopping or checkout.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- 6 months experience using a computer (inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information).
- 6 months experience using common retail technology such as smartphones and tablets.
- Reading, writing, and basic arithmetic (addition and subtraction).
- Ability to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary to perform job duties.
- Ability to lift 25 lb unassisted or over 25 lb with or without an accommodation.
Preferred Qualifications
- 6 months of retail and/or customer service experience.
- Bi‑lingual skills.
- Certification in a trade related to the department (e.g., hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, lumber/building materials).

Working Conditions
Environmental factors vary by location; you may work inside and outside in weather conditions ranging from extreme heat or cold to wet, damp, humid, windy, or drafty environments. You may be exposed to constant or intermittent noise, moving or shaking objects and equipment. Lifting methods vary based on role, weight, and volume, with single lifts limited to 75 lb and team lifts used for heavier items. Powered equipment is used as required, with proper training or assistance from a trained coworker.
Travel Requirements
This role does not require regular travel; however, occasional travel to meetings, training, or to support neighboring stores may be needed.
