About the role
Full-Time Police Officer position with the Parker Police Department.
Responsibilities
- Work 12-hour shifts with 24/7 service coverage, including weekends and holidays.
Requirements
- Comply with all standards set forth in the Texas Administrative Code, Title 37, Part VII, Chapter 217 Licensing Requirements, Rule 217.1 Minimum Standards for Initial Licensure.
- Citizen of the United States.
- At least 21 years of age.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Currently licensed as a peace officer by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer or able to be licensed prior to appointment.
- Experience as a licensed peace officer preferred, preferably with a larger Texas municipality or county agency.
- Commission must not have denied or revoked a license by final order; license cannot currently be suspended; no surrender of license can be currently in effect.
- Must not have violated any commission rule or provision of the Texas Occupation Code Chapter 1701.
- Must not have resigned or retired from previous agency while under investigation.
- Military service with an Honorable Discharge is a plus (DD-214 required).
- Valid driver’s license with a clear driving history for the past two years and able to obtain a valid Texas license prior to appointment.
Special Requirements
- Successfully complete a personal history background check including criminal, civil, administrative, and driving history.
- Examination by a psychologist licensed by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists.
- Physical examination by a physician licensed by the Texas Medical Board.
- Pre-employment drug screening.
- Pre-employment personal interviews or other processes deemed necessary.

- Provide a handwritten letter explaining the applicant’s knowledge of the City of Parker, the Parker Police Department, and reasons for applying to work with the Parker PD.
- When directed, complete a personal history statement and information packet or other documents as requested for the background investigation.

Pay
- Salary range: $82,000 – $86,993.
