Full-time Pharmacy Technician

About the role
We are seeking a highly motivated Pharmacy Technician to work in an entity-owned retail pharmacy within a Community Health Center. This role plays a key part in delivering medication and pharmaceutical care to underserved communities, fostering patient relationships, and assisting pharmacists in preparing and delivering prescriptions. You will help grow the Health Center’s first entity-owned pharmacy as an enthusiastic and compassionate team member. This position is located at Rural Health Clinic, 513 N Main, Anna, IL 62906. Pharmacy hours are Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM (subject to change based on clinic needs).
Responsibilities
- Retrieve and prepare medications for pharmacist review and verification; organize medications for dispensing; profile prescriptions; prepare labels; and calculate quantities.
- Ensure medication availability by maintaining and replenishing pharmacy inventory.
- Communicate with patients, prescribers, and staff to resolve problems or answer questions.
- Collaborate with the pharmacy team to ensure 340B compliance best practices.
- Maintain professional relationships with the pharmacy team, physicians, nurses, and other care team members.
- Adapt to varying pharmacy requirements as departmental demands change.
- Be available to assist customers/patients at all times.
- Maintain a friendly and helpful attitude when interacting with customers.
- Keep the pharmacy safe and clean by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of retail pharmacy technician experience preferred.
- National Pharmacy Technician certification preferred.
- 340B program experience preferred.
- State of Illinois Pharmacy Technician License required.
- May require vendor credentialing.
At this level, you will apply acquired knowledge to complete standard tasks, learn and apply new methods, maintain licenses and certifications, work on routine assignments with some problem-solving, and follow defined procedures. Work is performed under moderate supervision with regular review by a lead or supervisor. Complex issues are referred to a supervisor.
Pay
Anticipated hourly range: $16.40–$21.15 per hour.
