Position Summary
Processes member purchases by operating cash registers and managing pharmacy operations.
What you'll do...
- Processes member purchases by operating cash registers and related hardware.
- Maintains merchandise presentation by stocking and rotating merchandise.
- Maintains the Pharmacy area by handling claims and returns, utilizing equipment for merchandising functions, and completing paperwork.
- Maintains the prescription fulfillment process by processing third-party insurance claims, scanning images, and resolving issues.
- Provides patient/member service by assisting the pharmacist, processing prescription orders, and resolving issues.
- Enters prescription data into pharmacy software, reads prescriptions, and transcribes prescription information.
- Fills prescriptions by retrieving orders, counting, pouring, measuring, or weighing medications, and operating scanning equipment.
- Ensures accurate sales by scanning security tags, gathering signatures, and logging restricted pharmaceutical items.
- Completes work assignments by following policies, data, and resources, and adapting to changes.
- Complies with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity.
- Serves customers and members by delivering results, balancing priorities, and considering impacts on team performance.
- Strives for excellence by displaying curiosity, taking calculated risks, and demonstrating resilience.
Qualifications
- Meets all state requirements to work as a Pharmacy Technician, such as minimum age, qualification, registration, certification, and/or licensure when required by the State Board of Pharmacy.
- Must obtain National Pharmacy Technician Certification issued by PTCB (PTCE) or NHA (ExCPT) within 9 months of job entry.
Pay & Benefits
The hourly wage range for this position is $18.00 to $26.00*. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.
