Full-time Package Handler

Spee Dee Delivery is a family-owned and operated company founded in 1978 by Donald and Sylvia Weeres. Our core business is standard, next-day ground delivery. The corporate headquarters and main sort facility are located in St. Cloud, MN. We currently employ over 1,800 employees across the Midwest.

About the role

The Full-Time Package Handler will load, unload, and sort freight accurately and in a timely manner to ensure quick delivery.

Schedule

Monday–Friday, 5:00 PM or 10:00 PM start. 10–15 hours of overtime expected each week. Paid overtime at time and a half after 40 hours per week.

Pay

$18.00–$20.00 per hour, based on experience, plus shift differential.

Responsibilities

• Unload packages by hand from fleet vehicles.
• Scan package barcode labels while unloading for tracking purposes.
• Sort each package by zip code, city, or state.
• Stack freight into trailers and routes in a manner to prevent damage and utilize space efficiently.
• Wash fleet vehicles to maintain company image, as needed.
• Perform light custodial duties to maintain a clean and safe warehouse environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to bend, lift, twist, carry, and slide freight.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repetitively and up to 100 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to spend a minimum of 8 hours on your feet.
• Ability to work with all types of freight, including hazardous material, perishable food, alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals.
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
