About the Role
The Advanced Practice Provider (CRNP/PA) delivers comprehensive direct patient care in collaboration with physicians and a multidisciplinary team.
Responsibilities
- Obtain patient histories and conduct physical exams related to chief complaints.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests.
- Diagnose illnesses and determine treatment plans, including specialty consultations and procedures.
- Focus on health promotion, patient education, and follow-up instructions.
- Participate in disposition planning, staff and student education, clinical research, program development, and quality improvement.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance patient care and team collaboration.
Qualifications
Education
- Master’s degree in Nursing (NP) or graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
License, Certification, and/or Registration
- Current registration with the Alabama Board of Nursing and Board of Medical Examiners or an active Alabama PA license.
- Credentialed by the hospital.
- BLS certification required by the end of orientation.

- Preferred experience with electronic medical records.
