Role Overview
Seeking a Registered Nurse to deliver comprehensive, compassionate care to patients with gastrointestinal conditions. Responsibilities include patient assessment, procedural assistance, recovery care, education, and maintaining a safe clinical environment. Collaboration with physicians and healthcare staff is essential to implement care plans, monitor progress, and ensure patient safety.
Key Duties
- Prepare equipment, supplies, and medications for endoscopic procedures.
- Perform pre-procedure assessments, establish IV access, and administer sedation, monitoring for adverse reactions.
- Assist during procedures, handle pathology specimens, and provide verbal handoff reports.
- Deliver post-procedure care, discharge instructions, and educational materials.
- Assess patient recovery to baseline, maintain logs, and ensure procedural efficiency.
- Support room turnover, prepare specimens, and assist with follow-up calls.
Qualifications & Skills
- Current RN license; BSN preferred.
- BLS certification; ACLS preferred.
- Minimum two years RN experience; endoscopy or procedural nursing experience preferred.
- Strong communication, customer service, organizational, and multitasking skills.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records, Microsoft Office, and medical documentation tools.
Physical & Environment Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, lift up to 25 pounds, and operate medical equipment.
- Manual dexterity and visual acuity for patient assessment and procedures.
- Ability to respond quickly in emergencies and wear PPE as needed.
- Exposure to clinical hazards such as blood, bodily fluids, and chemicals.
