Full Time Music Minister

Grandview Baptist Church, located in Dothan, AL is seeking a passionate and dedicated full-time Music Minister. We are looking for someone to lead and grow our worship ministry who has a heart for worship, a commitment to biblical ministry, and a desire to lead our congregation in Christ-centered worship. Job Posting: Minister of Music Church Name: Grandview Baptist Location: 2400 Forrester Rd, Dothan, AL Phone: 334-792-1515 Position Type: Full-Time Reports To: Senior Pastor Position Overview The Minister of Music serves as the spiritual and musical leader of our church’s music ministry. This individual is responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing all musical components of worship services and special programs to ensure music reflects the church’s traditions and glorifies God. Key Responsibilities Worship Leadership: Collaborate with the Senior Pastor to plan weekly worship services that align music with the sermon message. Lead congregational singing, choirs, and instrumentalists. Choir & Team Management: Direct and rehearse with the adult choir, praise teams, and other vocal or instrumental groups. Recruit and train volunteers across all age groups, including children and youth. Special Events: Organize and lead music for seasonal programs such as Advent/Christmas, Lent/Easter and revivals. Technical Oversight: Coordinate with audio/visual teams to ensure sound, lighting, and streaming equipment are operational and effective for services. Administration: Manage the music ministry budget, maintain the music library, and oversee the maintenance of church instruments. Collaboration: Ability to work harmoniously within a multi-staff environment, committees, and effectively communicate with volunteers. Qualifications Spiritual Commitment/Maturity: A clear personal testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and a lifestyle consistent with biblical principles. A pure heart, godly character, and focus on leading people to God. A calling/passion given by God to worship and lead others in worship. Candidates must affirm the Bible as the infallible word of God. Musical Proficiency: Skilled in vocal leadership or playing an instrument (such as piano or Guitar) and the ability to read music. Educational Background: A bachelor’s degree in music, church music, or a related field is preferred. Experience: 3–5 years of successful church music ministry experience is ideal.
