The role focuses on executing customer service policies, merchandising, and maintaining the Outside Garden area while collaborating with the Merchandising Service team and Manager.
Responsibilities
- Provide SMART customer service through daily execution of Lowe’s customer service policies, procedures, and programs.
- Build relationships with vendors by providing direction and ensuring merchandise resets are completed according to Lowe’s specifications.
- Collaborate with the Merchandising Service team and Manager to communicate project priorities, schedules, and needs (e.g., materials, supplies, time).
- Engage with customers to understand their needs, assist in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and/or loading merchandise.
- Listen to and respond knowledgeably and promptly to customer questions, guiding them to relevant store areas when necessary.
- Demonstrate sincere appreciation to customers and communicate information about stock, special orders, feature benefits, applications, and warranties.
- Merchandise plant racks onto tables by planogram, price, and color block as shipments arrive.
- Identify and replace damaged or missing signage, displays, and collateral according to merchandising standards and planogram details.
- Update and validate wayfinding and product location signage, including digital maintenance of this information.
- Ensure cross-merchandise, side stack products, j-hooks, and gravity feed bins are placed appropriately to drive add-on sales.
- Assist with culling and pricing dead and distressed plants.
- Maintain high communication and partnership with Merchandising Service Managers (MSM) and red vest associates.
- Identify and communicate issues with quality, quantity, and additional needs to the Outside Garden Supervisor and MSM.
- Adjust fixtures, rotate stock, display products, and support materials using power equipment (e.g., lifts, order pickers).
- Review, complete, and enter details for assigned service and maintenance tasks, including time spent and photographs to confirm completion.
- Ensure all displays are safe, in working order, and repaired or replaced as needed.
- Repair or seal damaged packaging and boxes, including peg-hook items.
- Remove trash, move cardboard to the bailer, and dispose of plastic wrap and debris in the compactor.
- Replace light bulbs and report additional maintenance issues (e.g., lights out, painting).
- Detect and report signs of shoplifting, theft, and security risks to management and/or Asset Protection.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the Outside Garden and working areas through housekeeping standards (e.g., Zone Recovery).
- Ensure a safe and secure work environment by conducting daily safety reviews, noting hazards, keeping aisles clear, and securing doors and gates.
- Adhere to all safety requirements, including top stock safety, reinstalling safety cables, using aisle blockers, tether lines on power equipment, spotters, and safety devices.
- Operate store equipment as needed (e.g., Zebra phone, telephone, paging system, copiers, fax machines, computers, CCTV surveillance system, key cutter, panel saw, paint mixer, flooring cutters, compactor baler).
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 6 months of live nursery experience or general merchandising experience.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED (preferred).
- 6 months of Lowe’s sales floor experience (preferred).
- 6 months of experience performing product merchandising tasks, including reading planograms, setting up, and tearing down displays (preferred).
- 3 months of experience operating power equipment such as lifts, order pickers, and similar equipment (preferred).
