Full-Time Machine Operator – Night Shift (12-Hour Shifts) | Starting Pay $23.58

About the Role

As a Machine Operator, you'll set up and operate a machine that produces cheese for some of the biggest restaurants and retailers in the world. You'll monitor equipment and perform quality checks to ensure we meet customer requirements. This role requires adherence to strict safety and food safety standards, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) such as a hard hat, hair net, boots, and safety glasses at no cost to you.

Customer needs drive our production schedule, so flexibility to work overtime (with additional pay) and maintain a satisfactory attendance record is essential.

Responsibilities

• Perform all process CP, CCP, QP, and CQP checks required for the position.
• Follow reaction plans for Food Safety, Food Quality, and customer requirement deviations.
• Identify and understand customer requirements and assist in ensuring proper production operation.
• Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices and good housekeeping guidelines.
• Follow safety guidelines, wear designated PPE, and meet OSHA safety requirements.
• Perform manual labor tasks such as inspection, rework, and sort operations as needed.
• Collaborate with team members and comply with plant policies and procedures.
• Utilize Process Excellence tools to improve plant performance and complete projects as directed.
• Support Process Excellence (P.E.) and SPS tools initiatives.
• Maintain satisfactory attendance, arrive on time, and be willing to work weekends, off-shifts, and overtime as needed.
• Work in other general labor positions in the plant as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Ability to read and write English.
• Basic math, counting, calculator, and basic computer skills.
• Forklift driving skills may be necessary.
• Training can generally be completed in a 6-week period or less.
• Must be adaptable, goal-oriented, and possess a strong work ethic.
• Good interpersonal relations, deductive logic, and dependability (good attendance).

Physical Demands

• Stand up to 12 hours per day.
• Walk up to 50 minutes per hour.
• Sit up to 15 minutes per hour.
• Work in cold, hot, or wet environments up to 12 hours per day.
• Lift and carry up to 50 pounds up to 4 times per hour.
• Bend, squat, or twist up to 15 minutes per hour.
• Lift and reach shoulder height and above repetitively.
• Climb steps or ladders and work at heights occasionally.
• Quickly access different areas of the plant frequently.

Pay

Starting pay: $23.58 per hour. After 24 months, pay tops out at $27.77 per hour. Night differential: $2.00 per hour.

Schedule

• 12-hour shifts, all night positions once qualified.
• Training may be on days or nights, and some training could be Monday-Friday on 8-hour shifts.
• Overtime and weekends required.
