About the role

The Aspire Allergy Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) is a vital part of our clinical staff in our mission to cure patients who suffer from allergy and sinus problems. They will deliver a memorable experience for our patients with each interaction, ensuring patient comfort and satisfaction are top of mind. They will practice precision in completing allergy tests, administering injections, and entering patient information into our EMR. They will share responsibility with the front desk team, collecting payment and scheduling follow-ups as needed. They will exemplify integrity in everything they do, always doing what is best for our team and our patients.

Clinic Locations & Schedule

  • Westlake: 5656 Bee Caves Rd C-104, West Lake Hills, TX 78746
  • Lakeway: 12801 Shops Pkwy Ste 400, Bee Cave, TX 78738
  • Monday: 8:00am–5:00pm (Lakeway)
  • Tuesday: 7:30am–4:30pm (Westlake)
  • Wednesday: 8:00am–5:00pm (Westlake)
  • Thursday: 7:30am–4:30pm (Lakeway)
  • Friday: 8:00am–12:00pm (To be determined)

Responsibilities

  • Escorting patients to exam room; obtaining vitals, past/present medical history, and current medication list
  • Effectively communicating allergy testing and treatment protocols to patients
  • Administering subcutaneous, intradermal, and intramuscular injections
  • Conducting thorough and accurate spirometry testing
  • Performing all testing and treatment in accordance with Aspire Allergy’s protocols and safety measures
  • Navigating EHR system to record accurate patient health information
  • Serving patients & visitors by greeting, welcoming, and directing them appropriately
  • Assisting in answering incoming and outgoing phone calls and providing accurate information
  • Tracking clinical inventory and resupplying when needed
  • Ensuring all end-of-day reports and logs are accurate and complete
  • Following all HIPAA rules and regulations, including confidentiality of patient information
  • Adhering to Aspire Allergy’s protocols and safety measures
  • Adhering to OSHA requirements, including universal precautions and sharps disposal guidelines
  • Assisting with in-office procedures
  • Ordering pre/post IOP medications as necessary
  • Assisting with training and ongoing mentoring of new clinical hires
  • Willingness to be cross-trained in a variety of both front- and back-office duties to provide full-cycle clinic support, including:
    • Becoming proficient in the Practice Management (PM) side of our Electronic Health Record
    • Obtaining CT authorizations
    • Scanning patient documents and medical records and attaching them to charts
    • Checking patients in, including obtaining correct information such as demographics, PCP, contact, and insurance information
    • Checking patients out, including taking payment
    • Communicating an Out-of-Pocket Max for a patient
    • Sending End-of-Day emails to appropriate parties
    • Scheduling patient appointments
    • Enrolling patients in treatment of choice

Requirements

  • Must have basic knowledge of medical terminology
  • Must possess exceptional customer service skills
  • Must be able to effectively and clearly communicate with others to exchange information
  • Must be able to administer subcutaneous, intradermal, and intramuscular injections
  • Must be able to manually take patient vital signs
  • Must possess the ability to maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and the public
  • Must possess the ability to react calmly and effectively in a difficult or emergent situation
  • Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, balance with full range of body motion including handling and lifting up to 20 lbs
  • Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer/keyboard at 50 wpm, calculator, telephone, copier, and fax
  • Requires the ability to operate a motor vehicle to travel between clinics
  • 6+ months of nursing experience
  • Current nursing state license
  • Valid driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ years of front office experience
  • 1+ years of nursing experience
  • Current CPR certification
