About the role

Alila Marea Beach Resort is a Boundless Hotel by Hyatt located in North County, San Diego, just 32 miles north of San Diego International Airport, central to Encinitas on Coastal Highway 101. The resort combines understated elegance with coastal views from nearly every guestroom, featuring natural stone, warm woods, and clean lines. It offers 130 guestrooms, 6,626 sq/ft of meeting space, a full-service spa, two restaurants (Vaga and Pocket), and one café, delivering high‑touch barefoot luxury and service emblematic of the Alila Way.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate good communication and culinary skills.
• Possess hotel cooking experience and preferably a culinary degree.
• Apply professional knowledge of cooking ingredients and procedures.
• Work single stations in the kitchen under significant supervision and training.
• Perform all basic cooking skills.
• Work a single station in the kitchen.
• Show a true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast‑paced environment.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Perform duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Refined verbal communication skills.
• 2 years of previous line experience preferred.
• Culinary degree or related hotel experience preferred.
• Able to perform all basic cooking skills.
• Able to work a single station in the kitchen.
• A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast‑paced environment.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to perform duties as assigned by management.

Pay

The hourly rate of pay for this position is $26.91.
