The Role
As a Leasing Agent, you're the first point of contact for prospective residents and their families — from the moment they inquire to the day they sign. You'll give tours, follow up on leads, close leases, and help drive the property to 100% occupancy on the academic-year calendar. This is a sales-and-service role built for someone outgoing, organized, and motivated by targets, with plenty of room to grow into leadership.
What You'll Do
- Leasing & Sales
- Greet prospects, conduct property tours, and confidently sell the community's floor plans, amenities, and location to students and parents.
- Follow up on leads by phone, text, email, and CRM in a timely, persistent, and professional way.
- Close leases and hit individual and team leasing goals, especially through the high-intensity pre-leasing season.
- Accurately complete lease paperwork, applications, guarantor forms, and roommate-matching details for by-the-bed, individual liability leases.
- Support renewal campaigns to keep current residents in the community year over year.
- Marketing & Outreach
- Help execute the property's marketing plan through campus outreach, on-campus events, social media, referrals, and listing sites tied to the ECU calendar.
- Represent the community at tabling events, housing fairs, and student organization partnerships.
- Contribute ideas and content for social media and resident events that keep the property visible to a student audience.
- Resident Experience & Administration
- Deliver a service-first experience, answering questions and resolving concerns for residents, parents, and guarantors.
- Maintain accurate records in the property management/CRM system (e.g., Entrata, RealPage/OneSite, Yardi), including traffic, follow-ups, and conversion data.
- Assist with move-in coordination, resident events, and general front-office operations.
- Keep leasing interactions compliant with Fair Housing and North Carolina landlord-tenant requirements.
What You Bring
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills — you're comfortable and confident talking with students, parents, and guarantors.
- A sales-minded, goal-oriented attitude and the drive to close leases and hit targets.
- Strong organization and follow-through, with the ability to manage many leads at once.
- Professionalism, reliability, and a service-first mindset.
- Comfort with computers, CRM/leasing software, and social media.
- Availability to work a schedule that ramps up during pre-leasing season, turn, and move-in, including some weekends.
Preferred
- Prior leasing, sales, retail, hospitality, or customer-service experience.
- Familiarity with student housing, by-the-bed leasing, and the academic-year cycle.
- Experience with property management/leasing software (Entrata, RealPage/OneSite, Yardi) and CRM tools.
- Knowledge of the Greenville / East Carolina University market — bonus if you're an ECU student or alum.
- Basic Fair Housing awareness.
