Pay

Starting Wage: $20.00 per hour
Wage Increases: Year 2 - $20.50 | Year 3 - $21.00 | Year 4 - $21.00 | Year 5 - $22.00

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the appropriate resolution of employee and customer concerns, aligning with store management as needed.
  • Communicates job responsibilities and performance expectations to store personnel in the absence of store management to ensure desired results.
  • Assists store management with implementing action plans to improve operating results and personnel development.
  • Informs store management of team developments and concerns in a timely and effective manner.
  • Communicates, cooperates, and interacts effectively with all levels of ALDI employees, customers, third-party vendors, and business partners.
  • Leads, develops, and supervises the team to develop sales, engage teams, satisfy customers, and achieve consistent high performance.
  • Understands the overarching company strategy and models the core values of the organization.
  • Fosters a positive and collaborative working environment and promotes teamwork among employees.
  • Stocks shelves and displays neatly while following merchandising planograms to maximize sales.
  • Properly utilizes the point-of-sale (POS) system to accurately scan and process customer purchases and informs store management of scanning concerns or errors.
  • Completes curbside pickup orders by accurately retrieving items from the store, verifying order contents, and ensuring timely delivery to customers’ vehicles from the staging area.
  • Executes opening and closing duties in the absence of store management.
  • Delegates and oversees the completion of tasks to store associates, cashiers, and stockers in the absence of store management.
  • Assists store management in achieving operational efficiency goals.
  • Assists store management in achieving total loss goals.
  • Adheres to cash policies and procedures.
  • Resolves concerns from store personnel and customers and/or refers such concerns to the store manager as necessary.
  • Models, communicates, and monitors compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Ensures store personnel adhere to expense guidelines, inventory procedures, product handling, and cash handling policies to minimize loss.
  • Ensures store personnel maintain zone standards and merchandising standards at all times.
  • Ensures store personnel comply with the company’s guidelines, policies, and procedures; demonstrates appropriate interactions with co-workers.
  • Supports store management in ensuring a safe working environment by rectifying and identifying unsafe conditions, including poor ergonomics and equipment concerns to prevent injuries or accidents before they occur.
  • Performs general cleaning tasks to company standards.

Physical Demands

  • Required to push, pull, sit, stand, reach, grasp, twist, and move from one area to another.
  • Required to lift, carry, and place products weighing up to 45 pounds on shelves at various heights, including overhead.
  • Required operation of equipment such as a cash register, electric and manual hand jacks, floor scrubber, and cardboard baler.
  • Required to stock product in varying temperatures, including freezer and cooler environments.
  • Required to use glass and multipurpose cleaning products.

  • Ability to operate all store equipment such as cash registers, floor scrubber, cardboard baler, pallet jacks, handheld devices, computers, etc.
  • Develops and maintains positive relationships with internal and external parties.
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and complete activities to maximize the total time available.
  • Ability to establish and successfully execute plans and goals.
  • Ability to maintain reliable and prompt attendance.
  • Ability to meet availability requirements.

Education and Experience

  • At least 18 years old required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Prior experience in a retail environment and prior management experience preferred.
