The Flex Officer position is crucial to operational and financial success. Flex officers provide trained, competent support by working shifts that become open due to illness, call-offs, weather, vacation, or other causes, enabling Sunstates to provide continual, uninterrupted service to customers while protecting the health and work balance of personnel. Flex officers are trained at various posts and/or facilities based on operational need; assignments are not permanent and may last several weeks at a specific location.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties as specified by Post Orders and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
• Read and become extremely knowledgeable of Post Orders and SOP
• Act quickly and efficiently according to Post Orders and SOP directives

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Active driver's license
• Good communication skills
• Good customer service skills and professional appearance

Schedule

Scheduling parameters and expectations for a Flex Officer differ from those of an employee assigned to a fixed post. As a Flex Officer:

• You will be trained at various posts and/or facilities based on operational need; assignments are not permanent.
• Your schedule (shifts, days off, hours per week) will vary based on operational need.
• You will be assigned to, or offered the opportunity to accept, shifts as they become available due to staffing needs.
• Some shifts will be scheduled in advance and posted with the new week’s schedule; sometimes you will be called with short notice to cover for someone unable to work.
• You are expected to work any shift for which you are scheduled in advance that falls within the availability described on your availability sheet.
• If you know you will be unavailable on an upcoming date or time that would normally fall within your availability, you must communicate this with your supervisor so they know not to schedule you.
• For short-notice call-ins, you are expected to work at least 80% of the shifts for which you are called; refusing more than 20% could negatively impact your employment status.

Pay

$18 per hour, with weekly pay.
