Full-Time Evening Pantry Leader

About the role

If you have a passion for serving the community, love working with volunteers, really care about people, and aren't afraid of some occasional heavy lifting this position may be for you. This is a hands-on position managing the packing and distribution of our food pantries. Coordinating and leading volunteers to feed thousands of local families a month is a foundational part of this position.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate volunteers in packing and distributing food to thousands of local families each month
• Operate material handling equipment including pallet jack, forklift (training and certification provided), and refrigerated box truck
• Unload trucks (must be able to lift 40-50 lb boxes)
• Manage food pantry packing and distribution operations
• Take initiative and multi-task to accomplish what needs to be done

Qualifications

• Commitment to the mission and vision of Common Heart
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• 1-3 years of supervisory or leadership experience
• Outstanding organizational skills, high level of attention to detail, and creative problem solving abilities
• Self-motivated and directed, able to work as part of a team
• Excellent interpersonal skills and customer service orientation
• Proficient in the use of email, word processing, and spreadsheet applications (familiarity with Google Apps versions helpful)
• Ability to operate pallet jack, forklift, and refrigerated box truck
• Reliable transportation and valid driver's license for at least 8 years with a clean driving record
• Flexibility and a good sense of humor
• Must be a good leader who loves serving people and can perform physical work

Schedule

30 hours per week, Monday - Thursday 1:30pm - 9:00 pm
