Full Time Courier/Driver

About the Role
We are seeking a customer-focused, compassionate individual to drive an American Red Cross vehicle for picking up, delivering, and properly storing blood products and other lightweight materials. You will follow an assigned route or work on an as-needed basis, performing additional transport or loading duties to support ARC Blood Services. As part of the Red Cross team, you will interact positively and proactively with both internal and external customers, demonstrating care and compassion at all times.
Responsibilities
- Operate vehicle for the safe delivery of blood products and materials, adhering to traffic laws.
- Prepare for deliveries by verifying orders, loading vehicles, and maintaining route supply inventory.
- Document temporary storage and transportation of blood, blood products, and materials as required by regulatory standards.
- Provide customer service by offering basic information and interacting positively with employees.
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness and check fluid and gas levels regularly.
- Provide shipping and receiving support as directed.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid driver’s license and clean DMV record.
Physical Requirements
- Regularly use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
- Frequently lift and/or move objects weighing 10-50 lbs unassisted.
- Frequently push carts weighing up to 100 pounds on flat flooring or ramps.
- Frequently stand for long periods, walk, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
- Occasionally sit, climb, or balance.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Able to withstand temperatures in a typical blood banking environment, including refrigerators and freezers.
- May require climbing step ladders.
- Operational flexibility to meet sudden and unpredictable needs.
Schedule
Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, with rotating on-call overnight and weekend shifts.
Pay
$16.65 per hour plus any applicable shift differentials.
