Full time Counter Representative & Back Up Driver

American Welding & Gas, Inc. has an immediate opportunity for a Counter Representative / Back Up Driver in our Billings, MT location. This position requires a CDL-B with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements, or the ability to obtain both. *** This position has the primary responsibility of assisting customers with purchasing and ordering products focusing on gases and welding/industrial supplies. Duties will also include maintaining hardgoods, receiving and inventory control & back -up cylinder delivery. Responsibilities:Assist customers in store and by phone to purchase and order productsHandle cylinder returns, exchanges and purchasesHandle cash and charge account transactions. Reconcile cash, credit card, and charge transactions and end of day cash drawersBranch collection activities and customer retention callsAssist manager with opening and closing store each day including securing all cylinders, locking all areas and setting alarmsMonitor inventory levels. Check in and put away inventoryReceive freight and create bar code labels with part numbersSchedule deliveries and service callsSupport outside sales teamFollow and comply with all company safety policiesWork with store manager to achieve/surpass budgeted sales projections while maintaining expenses within the parameters allocated by management to achieve profitabilityAssist manager with building and equipment maintenanceOther duties as assigned Qualifications High School graduate or equivalentClass B CDL Required with Hazmat and Tanker endorsementsClean driving recordAble to read and write EnglishAble to move compressed gas and liquid cylinders; Lift 50-75 pounds frequently and maneuver 100+ pound cylinders (rolling, using a cart, etc.)Successful completion of pre-employment drug screen, DOT physical and company administered road testAbility to communicate with customers Drug Free work environment AWG is an employee-owned company that packages and distributes industrial, medical, specialty, and beverage gases.
