Full-Time Construction Management Faculty
Provide quality and engaging instruction across all delivery methods and formats within specific academic programs. Offer timely and meaningful feedback to students regarding mastery of course and program learning outcomes. Engage students outside of class to support curriculum and co-curriculum goals. Contribute to institutional support, community service, and student retention initiatives while aligning with the College’s mission and strategic plan.
Responsibilities
- Instruction
- Deliver assigned classes using pedagogy and technology that best support student learning, adhering to college loading policy, course objectives, and program learning outcomes.
- Develop and maintain curriculum and supporting course materials in alignment with course objectives and program learning outcomes.
- Maintain student records, attendance, grades, and other required documentation.
- Manage a classroom environment conducive to student learning, complying with federal, state, and college safety standards.
- Facilitate student achievement of expected program learning outcomes.
- Use the Learning Management System (e.g., IvyLearn) to support teaching, learning, assessment, and communication.
- Implement emergency and safety procedures for classrooms, labs, and all learning environments.
- Retention and Student Success
- Provide academic-related coaching and monitoring to assigned student advisees in partnership with professional academic advising staff.
- Monitor and document student performance throughout the semester, using technology for academic advising alerts and providing necessary interventions (e.g., communication, tutoring, referrals to college resources).
- Maintain posted office hours and student engagement hours in accordance with campus expectations and faculty loading policy.
- Promote and assist in student recruitment, retention, and program completion through outreach via phone, technology tools, and other electronic means.
- Professional Development
- Participate in professional development activities, including scheduled training, onsite industry engagement, and self-study to advance instructional and technical skills.
- Engage in scholarly activities related to the discipline to fulfill annual performance plans and certification/licensure requirements.
- Stay current with contemporary pedagogy, digital technology, and other teaching tools that support student learning.
- Community Relations and Business Outreach
- Participate in community service activities to advance the college’s relationships within its service area.
- Develop community, industry, and business contacts to strengthen college relationships within the service area.
- Institutional Support
- Provide institutional support as requested, including participation on committees, task forces, accreditation projects, and grant-related initiatives.
- Support and engage with Workforce Alignment and Development (Ivy Tech Foundations).
- Attend commencement and participate in college/campus-wide meetings, departmental/school/faculty meetings, and career service/alumni activities.
- Support program/department chair in program management activities and adhere to college and campus academic policies.
Requirements
A qualified full-time faculty member meets the education component of the School of Advanced Manufacturing, Engineering & Applied Science discipline program standard through one of the following routes:
- Possesses an earned baccalaureate or higher degree from a regionally accredited institution in technology, engineering, or engineering technology; or an earned baccalaureate or higher degree directly related to the program’s discipline, and
- Possesses any specialized certifications required for the class being taught and program accreditation requirements, as applicable, and
- Two years of directly related work experience specifically linked to the competencies listed in the Curriculum of Record (COR).
- Possesses an earned baccalaureate or higher degree from a regionally accredited institution, and
- Possesses any specialized certifications required for the class being taught and program accreditation requirements, as applicable, and
- Five years of directly related work experience specifically linked to the competencies listed in the Curriculum of Record (COR).
- Possesses an earned associate or higher degree from a regionally accredited institution directly related to the program’s discipline, and
- Possesses any specialized certifications required for the class being taught and program accreditation requirements, as applicable, and
- Three years of directly related work experience specifically linked to the competencies listed in the Curriculum of Record (COR).
- Possesses a Department of Labor, Bureau for Apprenticeship Training recognized journeyman’s card in the discipline directly related to credentials, certifications, and competencies, in journeyperson status for two years or more with specifically linked experience, and
- Possesses any specialized certifications required for the class being taught and program accreditation requirements, as applicable.
- Possesses any specialized certifications or credentials required for the class being taught and program accreditation requirements, as applicable, and
- Five years of directly related work experience in the field specifically linked to the competencies listed in the Curriculum of Record (COR).
- Possesses a current Workplace Specialist License, Technology Education License (Technology and Engineering Education, Engineering and Technology Education), or CTE: Trade & Industrial Engineer or Manufacturing License granted by the Indiana Department of Education appropriate to course objectives, and
- Possesses any specialized certifications required for the class being taught and program accreditation requirements, as applicable.
Official academic transcripts are required at the time of hire, sent directly from the issuing institution to the Office of Human Resources.
Pay
$45,000 - $50,000 per 9-month academic year, with additional possible compensation opportunities (e.g., summer assignments).
