Full time Child care teacher assistant

About the role

The Old Colony YMCA seeks a Childcare Teacher Assistant to work at their Brockton location. This part-time position offers flexible hours between 6:45 AM and 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday, ranging from 15 to 25 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Help plan and implement a program of activities ensuring each child's personal safety
• Provide enrichment, physical challenges, and learning experiences
• Uphold the employee code of conduct
• Reflect the mission of the Old Colony Y and the regulating agency in all job responsibilities

Requirements

• Minimum of 16 years of age
• CPR/AED and First Aid certifications required
• Evidence of physical examination within the last 12 months

Qualifications

• Positive attitude and ability to work well with children
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to follow directions and work independently

Skills

• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work with children of various ages and abilities
• Knowledge of child development and safety practices
