About the role

Lowe’s Delivery Driver associates provide customer service, plan and execute deliveries, maintain in-stock conditions, and ensure clean and safe stores while adhering to safety and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide SMART customer service by executing Lowe’s customer service policies, assisting customers with needs, and answering questions knowledgeably.
  • Locate, demonstrate, select, carry, and load merchandise for customers.
  • Communicate product details, including stock, special orders, features, benefits, applications, and warranty information.
  • Coordinate deliveries by contacting customers, printing loading tickets, and ensuring on-time delivery.
  • Pull, inspect, build, and band delivery loads; load trucks within payload limits.
  • Verify product condition (e.g., appliances) before loading or assisting customers.
  • Update delivery and route status using systems like iPhone for tracking.
  • Unload, install, and test appliances upon delivery.
  • Maintain delivery vehicles and equipment (e.g., lift gates) by conducting inspections, reporting issues, and ensuring cleanliness and repairs.
  • Complete DOT reporting to maintain certification and CDL compliance.
  • Monitor and report security risks, such as shoplifting or theft, to management or Asset Protection.
  • Ensure compliance with housekeeping standards (e.g., Zone Recovery) to maintain store cleanliness and organization.
  • Maintain a safe work environment by conducting safety reviews, removing hazards, and securing areas.
  • Adhere to safety requirements, including top stock safety, safety cables, aisle blockers, tether lines, and spotters.
  • Operate store equipment as needed (e.g., Zebra phone, computers, CCTV, key cutter, panel saw, paint mixer, flooring cutters, compactor baler).
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Class A CDL License (required for locations with multi-unit CMV, such as tractor trailers and flatbeds).
  • Class B CDL License with air brake endorsement (acceptable for locations with single-unit CMV, such as tandem flatbeds).
  • Valid medical certificate or ability to obtain one upon employment.
  • Ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) screen per company requirements.
  • Ability to obtain sales-related licensure or registration as required by law.
  • Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills (addition, subtraction).
  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Ability to comply with DOT and CDL regulations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1 year of experience driving a semi-truck/trailer or certification from a driving school.
  • 6 months of experience in in-home delivery or retail customer service.
  • 3 months of experience operating a forklift or Moffett for onloading/offloading vehicles.
