About the role

Lowe’s Delivery Driver associates provide customer service, plan and execute deliveries, and maintain a clean, safe store environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide SMART customer service by following Lowe’s policies, assisting customers with locating, demonstrating, and selecting merchandise, and answering questions knowledgeably.
  • Communicate product details, stock availability, special orders, feature benefits, application, and warranty information to customers.
  • Coordinate deliveries by contacting customers, printing loading tickets, and ensuring on-time delivery of orders.
  • Pull, inspect, build, and band delivery loads; load trucks within payload capacity according to delivery orders.
  • Ensure loads are safe, secure, and compliant with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
  • Update delivery and route status using mobile systems (e.g., iPhone) for tracking purposes.
  • Unload, install, and test appliances upon delivery.
  • Perform daily vehicle inspections, report issues, and maintain cleanliness and repairs for delivery vehicles and equipment (e.g., lift gates).
  • Complete DOT reporting to maintain certification and CDL compliance.
  • Monitor and report signs of shoplifting, theft, or security risks to management and Asset Protection.
  • Maintain store cleanliness and organization through housekeeping programs (e.g., Zone Recovery).
  • Ensure a safe work environment by conducting safety reviews, removing hazards, and securing doors and gates.
  • Follow all safety requirements, including top stock safety, reinstalling safety cables, using aisle blockers, tether lines, spotters, and safety devices.
  • Operate store equipment as needed (e.g., Zebra phone, computers, CCTV, key cutter, panel saw, paint mixer, flooring cutters, compacter baler).
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Class A CDL License (required for locations with multi-unit CMV, such as tractor trailers and flatbeds) or Class B CDL License with air brake endorsement (required for locations with single-unit CMV, such as tandem flatbeds).
  • Valid medical certificate or ability to obtain one upon employment.
  • Ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) screen according to company requirements.
  • Ability to obtain sales-related licensure or registration as required by law.
  • Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills (addition, subtraction).
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Ability to comply with DOT and CDL regulations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1 year of experience driving a semi-truck/trailer or certification from a driving school.
  • 6 months of experience in in-home delivery or retail customer service.
  • 3 months of experience operating a forklift or Moffett for onloading/offloading vehicles.
