Full Time - Cashier - Day

About the role

As a Lowe’s cashier, you’ll ensure every customer exits the store on a high note by providing a quick, friendly checkout experience and helping customers get the best value for their money. While most of your time will be spent at the register, you may also assist other departments, stock shelves, or move carts as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver a fast, friendly, and professional checkout experience.
• Proactively assist customers in the self‑checkout area.
• Scan and bag items accurately and efficiently.
• Manage a cash register, payments, and exchanges.
• Answer customer questions.
• Help maintain a clean, safe workstation.
• Complete other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Reading, writing, and performing basic arithmetic (addition and subtraction).
• Ability to stand and sit for prolonged periods of time.
• Experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
• Ability to lift 10 lb unassisted or over 15 lb with or without accommodation.
• Obtain sales‑related licensure or registration if required by law in your state.

Preferred Qualifications

• Retail and/or customer service experience.
• Bilingual skills.

Travel Requirements

This role does not require regular travel; occasional travel may be needed for meetings, training, or to support neighboring stores.

Working Conditions

Environmental factors vary by location and may include indoor and outdoor weather conditions such as extreme heat or cold, wet, damp, humid, windy, or drafty environments. You may be exposed to constant or intermittent noise, moving or shaking objects and equipment. Lifting guidelines limit single lifts to 75 lb; team lifts are used for heavier items. Powered equipment may be used with proper training or assistance.

Pay

Pay range: $15.92 – $16.75 per hour. Starting rate may vary based on position, location, education, training, and experience.
