Full-Time Caregiver 1st and 2nd Shift

About the Role

The Medication Aide administers prescribed medications and treatments to residents in accordance with state regulatory stipulations and safe administration requirements. The role also supports residents with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, socialization, cognition, and physical health, while encouraging independence, supporting resident choice, and preserving dignity through professional conduct.

Responsibilities

• Administer prescribed medications and treatments to residents.
• Observe residents taking medication, note effects, and report any unexpected or adverse reactions.
• Document medication administration accurately in residents’ records.
• Communicate concerns or observations to the Wellness Director, Wellness Coordinator, or designated personnel.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living such as personal hygiene, socialization, cognition, and physical health.
• Encourage resident independence and support resident choice.
• Maintain resident dignity through professional interactions.

Requirements

• Successful completion of medication assistance training meeting state and facility regulatory requirements.
• Current, up‑to‑date medication certification as required by state regulations.
• Compassionate and empathetic in personal interactions.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Self‑supervising and self‑motivating; able to collaborate as a team member.
• Adaptable, flexible, and highly organized with the ability to manage multiple demands/tasks concurrently.
• Demonstrated problem‑solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior direct‑care experience.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Current CPR certification (preferred).
• Meets age requirements according to facility policy and state regulations.
