Responsibilities

• Guide guests through product selection
• Educate on cannabis options and safe use
• Ensure a compliant checkout experience
• Maintain merchandising and inventory
• Create a memorable, guest-first experience

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age
• At least 1 year in the cannabis industry
• Proven customer service experience in retail, hospitality, or a patient-facing environment
• Strong verbal communication and active listening skills; able to explain product information clearly and professionally
• Demonstrated dependability: punctual, accountable, and consistent in follow-through
• Solid understanding of basic math for cash handling and POS transactions
• Experience using point-of-sale systems and basic inventory tools (or ability to quickly learn)
• Knowledge of or willingness to learn cannabis products, consumption methods, dosages, and safety considerations
• Familiarity with state and local cannabis compliance requirements (ID verification, purchase limits) and strict adherence to regulatory procedures
• Ability to remain calm and optimistic under pressure and resolve customer concerns with integrity
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate weight, and perform routine merchandising tasks
• Legal authorization to work and ability to pass any required background checks or state licensing

Desired Skills

• Prior budtender or cannabis retail experience
• Formal cannabis education or certification (budtender training, cannabinoid science, etc.)
• Experience with seed-to-sale systems (e.g., METRC) or advanced inventory platforms
• Bilingual or multilingual communication skills
• Strong sales aptitude, upselling, and cross-selling experience focused on guest outcomes
• Experience contributing to merchandising, visual displays, and in-store promotions
• Comfort coaching patients on wellness-focused regimens and collaborating with management on product assortment and guest programming
