About the role
Working with minimal supervision, the Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in all facets of store operations. The position involves developing and promoting a sales culture, providing outstanding guest service, and supervising store associates.
Responsibilities
- Provide best-in-class guest service: greet guests promptly, respond to questions and concerns, assist with video gaming needs, and promote special promotions.
- Support the total shopping environment by managing visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and guest relationships.
- Process guest purchases/returns accurately and efficiently using the Point-of-Sale (POS) system.
- Respond to guest inquiries and escalate issues to the Store Manager as needed.
- Promote GameStop’s guest benefits and assist in training associates.
- Schedule and supervise store associates, ensuring optimal guest service and meeting sales and profit goals.
- Manage store inventory, maintain cleanliness, and fulfill Omni-Channel orders.
- Ensure store safety and report any incidents promptly.
- Perform administrative tasks and maintain accurate records.
Qualifications
- Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to legally work in the United States.
- At least 18 years old.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred.
- At least 6 months of retail management experience preferred.
- At least 2 years of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred.
- Video game knowledge preferred.
