About the role

Working with minimal supervision, the Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in all facets of store operations. The position involves developing and promoting a sales culture, providing outstanding guest service experiences, and supervising store associates.

Responsibilities

  • Provide best-in-class guest service: greet guests promptly, respond to questions and concerns, assist with video gaming needs, and promote special promotions.
  • Support the total shopping environment: ensure products are easily accessible, maintain cleanliness and organization, and foster guest loyalty.
  • Process guest purchases/returns accurately and efficiently using the POS system.
  • Respond to guest inquiries and escalate issues to the Store Manager.
  • Promote GameStop’s guest benefits and train associates on company policies and procedures.
  • Schedule and supervise store associates, ensuring optimal guest service and meeting sales and profit goals.
  • Manage payroll, handle inventory, and fulfill orders.
  • Maintain store cleanliness and safety standards.
  • Communicate store performance and address any issues with the Store Manager.

Qualifications

  • Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to legally work in the United States.
  • At least 18 years old.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred.
  • At least 6 months of retail management experience preferred.
  • At least 2 years of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred.
  • Video game knowledge preferred.
