About the role

Working with minimal supervision, the Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in all facets of store operations. The position involves developing and promoting a sales culture, providing outstanding guest service, and supervising store associates.

Responsibilities

  • Provide best-in-class guest service: greet guests promptly, respond to questions and concerns, assist with video gaming needs, and promote special promotions.
  • Support the total shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, and promote GameStop’s guest benefits.
  • Process guest purchases/returns accurately and efficiently using the POS system.
  • Respond to guest inquiries and escalate issues to the Store Manager.
  • Achieve sales, profit, and shrink goals by managing staff, scheduling shifts, and ensuring guest satisfaction.
  • Maintain store cleanliness and organize merchandise.
  • Manage inventory, handle defects, and process recalls.
  • Ensure store safety and report any incidents.
  • Perform administrative tasks and maintain accurate records.

Qualifications

  • Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to legally work in the United States.
  • At least 18 years old.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • At least 6 months of retail management experience preferred.
  • At least 2 years of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred.
  • Video game knowledge preferred.

Pay

$14.16 - $18.16 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
