About the role
Cinemark Assistant Managers assist in the overall operation of the theatre. They ensure policies and procedures are being followed and operational standards are achieved. Assistant Managers are cross-trained in all departments to support where needed and provide inspirational training to all employees. After completing the Management Accreditation Program and working for a minimum of six months, an Assistant Manager can advance to Senior Assistant Manager, Theatre Manager, or General Manager.
Responsibilities
- Follows the direction of the General Manager and supports their decisions in communication with staff
- Works in all departments and all theatre job functions
- Trains and coaches team members in their specific job functions
- Assists in the preparation of administrative and special reports for the General Manager
- Inspects the theatre building, parking lot, landscaping, property, roof, exterior signage, and equipment; reports repair needs to the General Manager
- Ensures team members follow the dress code and provide superior customer service
- Learns and enforces Cinemark’s policies and procedures with all team members fairly and consistently
- Reports all employee relations issues to the General Manager or via www.convercent.com in the General Manager’s absence; follows the Employee Relations Reporting Protocol
- Adheres to high work ethic standards and code of conduct
- Identifies and sanitizes high-contact areas for employees and guests
- Utilizes personal protective equipment while completing position-specific tasks
- Adapts to the frequency and scope of required cleaning tasks
- Addresses safety or security issues (trip hazards, lighting, suspicious persons, etc.)
- Performs other work-related duties as assigned
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- High school diploma or G.E.D. preferred
- Completion of three basic courses (Management Foundations, Annual Certifications, and MAP Core) within Cinemark’s Management Accreditation Program
- Completion of basic food handling training and any local or state-mandated certification, health card, or food handler’s permit where required
- Completion of a Safe Alcohol Service training program for management members working with alcohol
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Regular and consistent attendance
- Energetic and friendly attitude during each shift
- Excellent guest service skills
- Accurate cash handling and basic math skills
- Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate (verbal and written) with all ages, genders, and personalities; must effectively and regularly converse in and comprehend English
- Ability to work in a team environment and independently
- Ability to take and follow direction and respond with a sense of urgency
- Excellent time management, organizational skills, and attention to detail
- Ability to train and lead others
- Conflict resolution skills
Physical and Environmental Requirements
- Frequent bending, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 lbs
- Frequent standing, walking, and reaching around the theatre
- Ability to work in a standing position for extended periods of time
- Noise level may be moderate to high at times

Pay
Pay range: $13.50 – $14.45 per hour.
