About the Role

The Perry Hotel combines exceptional service with upland hospitality experiences to create a destination with a nautical focus. The Perry Hotel is a 100-room boutique property that balances modern design and amenities with the nostalgia and craft of a bygone era.

Responsibilities

  • Know and apply federal, state, and local laws governing the service of alcoholic beverages, as well as the hotel's policies regarding liquor service and liability.
  • Gather all needed supplies and equipment for bar set-up.
  • Set up the bar according to hotel standards and maintain it during the shift.
  • Perform necessary side work.
  • Report tips for each pay period.
  • Serve properly mixed drinks to guests.
  • Punch in and report to the Restaurant Manager/Assistant Restaurant Manager on time and in full uniform for each shift.
  • Obtain Manager's approval prior to punching out.
  • Run tabs, compute guest checks, operate the POS computerized cash register system, and accept payments.
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; ability to write simple correspondence; ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other staff members.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages; ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations and address customer personalities in various business situations.

  • Regularly required to sit; use hands and fingers to handle and feel objects, tools, controls, and type; talk with and hear guests.
  • Occasionally required to stand and walk.
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision.

  • Moderate noise level in the work environment.
  • High-traffic, high-volume business environment.
  • Required to spend most of their time at their workstation.

Schedule

  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is required.
  • No guarantee of set days off or permanent schedules, as the hotel operates 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
  • Schedules will be set according to business demand.
