About the role
We are seeking a Full-time Primary Aftercare Lead Guide at Montessori Children's House and School.
Responsibilities
- Prepare & Maintain the Environment: Maintain a beautiful, orderly, and complete Montessori environment that fosters independence and self-direction.
- Guide Afternoon Life: Direct purposeful afternoon routines including Grace and Courtesy, community dining/snack, Practical Life work, creative expression, and rich outdoor exploration.
- Observe & Support Development: Observe to understand the developmental needs of individual children (ages 3–6) and guide them with freedom within limits.
- Collaborate with Assistant: Lead and mentor your Assistant to ensure a harmonious, peaceful, and consistent environment.
- Community Engagement: Cultivate authentic, respectful relationships with children, colleagues, and parents.
Requirements
- Montessori Preparation: AMI Primary Diploma or AMI Assistant Certificate strongly preferred (or extensive experience in an AMI-recognized environment).
- Grounded Presence: Calm, respectful, and confident leadership grounded in deep respect for the child.
- Clear Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with your Assistant and connect warmly with families.
- Physical Vitality: Readiness to move, bend, work on the floor, and actively support indoor and outdoor play.
- Commitment to Authentic Pedagogy: Dedication to upholding AMI principles and nurturing a peaceful, respectful community.

$3,300 – $3,800/month (pre tax), commensurate with AMI training, experience, and credentials
