The University of Michigan has an available position of Full-Stack Software Engineer located in Ann Arbor, MI. Hybrid or remote work modes may be available at the discretion of the hiring department.
About the role
Develop web-based applications and related infrastructure for the deposit, curation, analysis, and dissemination of political and social science data. Work closely with product owners and designers, mentor junior developers, and provide team and architectural leadership.
Responsibilities
- Develop user-facing features using JavaScript to tailor the front-end experience.
- Perform back-end programming to develop web applications using Java with unit test cases.
- Remediate problems discovered with SonarQube to ensure source code quality.
- Use SQL and JPA to query and modify relational database management systems.
- Review code and mentor more junior developers.
- Write Bash shell scripts on Linux systems to automate various computing tasks.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
- 60 months of experience as a Full-Stack Software Engineer, Full-Stack Software Developer, Software Engineer, or Software Developer.
- Experience must include:
- 60 months of back-end programming in Java with unit test cases.
- 60 months of front-end programming in JavaScript.
- 60 months of writing Bash shell scripts.
- 60 months of using SQL and JPA to query and modify relational database management systems.
- 24 months of using SonarQube to ensure source code quality.
- Experience requirements may be met concurrently during the same time period.
